A Cry For Help?

Entry #8
Our northern neighbors that have some pretty unfortunate and rather strange differences than the U.S. To me, canadians deserve the same as us, in the terms of goods and services. It doesn't seem like canada is going through a mass panic, but maybe underwraps is where we find that panic. An outcry of angry canadian citizens that maybe just want someone to listen to their voices.
Believe it or not, and no this isn't ripley's, Canada has had a ban on Frito Lay’s Flamin Hot Cheetos. Yes, the widely popular, mouth burning, finger staining loved snack that have been enjoyed by millions since being introduced in 1992. The canadian government however did want any part of the Flaming Hot Cheeto craze and in 2012, extinguished the fiery blaze with a ban. The reason, Flaming Hot Cheetos aren't healthy for you, being that Flaming Hot Cheetos offer no nutritional value. A small bag of Flamin Hot Cheetos has 200 calories, 14 grams of fat, 310 milligrams of sodium, and 19 grams of carbs, offering no vitamin’s value except for 4% of iron.
Though that's a given when it comes to snack foods like candy, chips, and other grab and go snack items the second reason for the canadian ban on Flamin Hot Cheetos will blow your mind,  hyperpalatable foods (sweet, salty, fatty) can prompt similar brain responses as those observed in individuals addicted to alcohol and drugs. So compulsive eating of snacks like these Flamin' Hot Cheetos will make your brain go as wacky as if you were a cocaine user ("Flamin' Hot Cheetos issue," n.d.). That’s right, the canadian government is comparing a corn snack to hard core Tony Montana cocaine. Which is as ridiculous as comparing bee stings to childbirth. For these reasons, Flamin Hot Cheetos need to be imported back to canada because Canadians have the right to eat the snacks that they choose to eat. When it comes to nutrition, a person has a right to consume whatever the desire, if it doesn't affect anyone or cause others harm. Why is it an issue? Importing this product into Canada will benefit those Canadian citizens that are craving for this fiery snack, and will demonstrate that people have a right to freedom of choice and bias generalizations should not be what decides what's banned and not banned.
The three major issues that face the importation of Flamin Hot Cheetos to Canada are convincing the citizens of Canada that are for the ban of Flamin Hot Cheetos why the product should be unbanned, convincing the canadian government to unban Flamin Hot Cheetos, and supplying enough Flamin Hot Cheetos for the citizens of Canada.
Convincing the citizens of canada that are for the ban of Flamin Hot Cheetos why the product should be unbanned and convincing the canadian government to unban Flamin Hot Cheetos are the first two issue that i’ll face. I understand that a great amount of citizens of Canada are for this ban of Flamin Hot Cheetos. Parents, Teachers, Health Nuts, and the Canadian government are all for the ban, and my job would be convincing them that Flamin Hot Cheetos aren't the enemy. When it comes to poor nutrition and addiction, the chips aren't too blame. The person eating the chips are the problem, If someone has a very poor diet, that is their choice because they choose what to eat. If what they decide to eat causes them to have a mentale addiction to them, then that is there problem that they are going to have to deal with. Doe’s it make them a bad person for being addicted to a corn chip? No, it doesn't and it doesn't affect those who disapprove because they aren't causing anyone harm. If they begin to rob people or banks to fuel their Flamin Hot Cheeto addiction, then yes, it is a problem but we know it will never come to that. They simply just like the chip, it may be their favorite and that is why they eat it alot. 83% of the word is addicted to coffee, but we don’t have a ban on it. The canadian government and those canadian citizens need to understand that, and allow these chips back into their country.
Supplying enough Flamin Hot Cheetos for the citizens of Canada would be my final issue importing Flamin Hot Cheetos in to Canada. If I get over my first two hurdles and the citizens and government is on board for ending this ban, the demand for Flamin Hot Cheetos is going to be through the roof. I would have to insure that Frito Lay would meet the demand for those Flamin Hot Cheeto loving Canadians. Stores could not be empty, there would be no backorder, everyone who wants them will be able to get them. This Flaming Hot Cheeto Canadian fans would have been waiting for the day that this ban would end, and i wouldn't disappoint their demand for the chips they love.

You Get What You Work For

Entry #7
If you’ve haven't seen Capitalism: A Love Story by Michael Moore it’s about Capitalism and how it affects business’ and everyday people. My initial reaction was confusion, I know NOTHING about capitalism and how it works. Politics are a foreign language to me. It takes the system of capitalism and breaks it down into simple, average joe understanding. I find the whole film pointless, a shameful way of attempting to persuade people to believe in a broken system. Capitalism is a jackass way of living and Moore being the hack that he is would be someone who believes in capitalism. Anyone who believes in a system where everyone is the same financially is an ass hat. The money that you deserve is that money that you work for, if someone wants to work and McDonald for the rest of their life then they are more than welcome to. If that job supports them and their family, then more power to them. However, the person who works at McDonald's doesn't deserve the same as a doctor, the doctor payed money to go to college for seven years and has earned the large amount that the are paid. The McDonald's worker did not do more than fill out a job application for the wage that they deserve. I’m a college student and i'm working my fingers to the bone so that someday i will get a return on my investment, friends of mine are working normal day to day jobs and not doing anything with their lives. They deserve to be payed as much as me in the future? Yeah right.

We all NEED a Higher Education

Blog entry #5

Image result for doug duceyDoug Ducey is the Governor for Arizona who represents the Republican party and is partnered with Achieve60AZ to increase Arizonans graduate rate.
(“Office of the Arizona Governor Doug Ducey.” Office of the Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, azgovernor.gov/.)
In order to do this they’re putting more money into the education system (Ducey, Gov. Doug. “Ducey: Why Arizona needs more college grads.”Azcentral, The Republic | azcentral.Com, 17 Sept. 2016, www.azcentral.com/story/opinion/op-ed/2016/09/17/arizona-needs-more-college-grads-ducey/90363958/). This was addressed to parents, teachers and citizens who want to improve their living. From the perspective of an Arizonian who cares about the community.  By having more graduates it allows more contributors to society. The reason to write this is to inform readers that SOMEONE is trying to help better our education system and by increasing our graduation rates it helps the city improve.

As a student, I’m all for having more money into our education and to have our graduate rate go up would be FANTASTIC! I know that Arizona is one of the states that has low grading scores and it’s not getting better. So if we can have more members of society contribute to taxes and be more of a community by growing together. Sense of growth by creating jobs, getting paid more and simply having people who care enough about themselves to have a certificate.

Is Porn Fixing Problems?

Blog Entry #6
“Why do porn sites have a 'Share to Facebook' button? Who watches porn and thinks, 'You know who'd really enjoy this? My family and friends.'”(unknown, 2017). It amazes me how many people are willing to bad talk about online pornography however when there is a sex scenes in movies they’re silent. Online pornography is a way people explore their bodies and get to learn what they like/dislike. Besides, pornography is viewed by a vast majority which includes men and women. When it comes to online pornography and the usage is overemphasized on the “damage” it does to someone but not only is it beneficial for the viewer but it’s good for society.
The impact of pornography is a stretched truths. It’s believed that watching so much pornography causes people to develop an antisocial personality and degrading to woman.
In actuality there actually is no evidence that leads people into believing that it makes people have antisocial behavior. Researchers interviewed sex offenders about their exposure to pornography; shockingly only a few of the studies have linked the access to porn with antisocial behaviors or sex crimes. They did other research where they took females and males who watched pornography and they found out that the correlation between the amount of exposure to pornography and disliking women did not exist (Diamond, M. 2014).
Online pornography does wonders to society since the access on porn increased, the rates of sex crimes, rape and child abuse has gone down. The reasoning for this decrease is those who may commit sexual based crimes learn to understand themselves and their desires leading to decrease the chance of sexual frustration which can lead to illegal sexual activity. Less than 1% of people say that they have or had problems in their life because of difficulties controlling their sexual behaviors (Ley, D. J. 2016). Online pornography can also help couples rekindle their relationships through porn by creating new fantasies to reenact (Featherstone, L. 2007).
Thus creating a good relationship and good citizens.

Bias in a non-bias way

Entry 3

In this statement Trump attempts to give condolences but in between the lines, he could care less. This seems forced in the sense that if the president didn’t comment on a problem that everyone was paying attention too then that's a bigger deal than the original problem. People are reacting to this tweet angrily because instead of personally saying going to Texas, he writes a tweet. The credibility of the source is burly impacted because it’s proving Trump hasn’t and will not change.

Causes of drinking and drug abuse

Entry 4.
They’re many types of drinkers; those consist of casual drinkers, social drinkers, binge drinker and those addicted to drinking. They’re all self-explanatory but what causes the addictive drinker to become dependent or how does drug abuse happen?
There are many stressors in life, these stressors can be school, bills and environment situation, things that people can’t control, which can influence people to do drugs/alcohol in an attempt to cope with these stressors. “Stress is unhealthy for the body, and there are different types of levels of stress, which leads to drinking, smoking and eating less” (Alcohol and Stress, 2017). Though there is an abundance of ways one could deal with stress, drugs and alcohol unfortunately can consume people. This process of self-medicating can be dangerous; those who use drugs and alcohol to cope with stress could become addicted to these substances, which could lead to health complications. These complications could be very mild, such as dependency and denial can be much worse, such as a potential overdose or even death.
People don’t intend to go to the doctors to get hooked on drugs, but sometimes it happens. Those addicted to prescribed medicine begin to believe a higher dosage is a cure to their illness. These addicts try to persuade multiple doctors to up to their dosage but once doctors deny their request due to concern of patience statue of medication addiction. Driving the addicts to outsource for the drugs, which ultimately leads to illegally obtaining them through drug dealers (McCormack, K. 2013). Because of this pill addiction epidemic, “There has been an up to rise in treatment for painkillers between 1996 through 2005” (Hooked on Prescription Pills, 2017).
The use of alcohol and drugs results in a change within the user’s mental state. People with mental disorders can feel that their condition can be overpowering, causing them mental distress. Hoping for a relief from these overpowering conditions can turn to drugs and alcohol. In actuality, “37 percent of alcohol abusers and 53 percent of drug abusers also have at least one serious mental illness” (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Issues). Though these users may believe drugs or alcohols are beneficial for their mental issues, in reality, drugs and alcohol only create bigger problems for the user. “Both drug-use disorders and other mental illnesses are caused by overlapping factors such as underlying brain deficits, genetic vulnerabilities, and/or early exposure to stress or trauma” (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Issues).
Everyone is different and not every treatment might work for them, but it doesn’t hurt to try.
